Yvonne M. Stelter, 78, of Rankin, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Presence United Samaritan Medical Center in Danville.

Yvonne was born Oct. 9, 1937, in Joliet, the daughter of Roy and Edith Smithpeters Koerner and they both preceded her in death. She married Louis Stelter in Joliet, Ill., in 1958, and he preceded her in death in 1992.

She is survived by one son, Charles (Mary) Stelter of Danville; three grandchildren, Abby Ponce, Kyle Stelter, and Kaitlyn Stelter; one brother, Roy (Phyllis) Koerner; and many great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Stelter was a member of Rankin United Methodist Church where she was a church secretary for many years. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 20 years and retired from Hoopeston Hospital. Yvonne enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service on Friday, July 1, at Knapp Funeral Home in Rankin. Rev. Janet Longtin will officiate. Burial will be at Rankin Union Cemetery.
