Danville, IL - Danville, Illinois - William Martin, 90, of Danville, IL died at 11:45pm Wed., April 8, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Thurs., April 16, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Danville, IL. Visitation will be from 9-11am on Thurs, April 16 at the church.
Bill was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Cissna Park, IL son of Albert and Mollie Martin. He married Joyce Unverferth Plotner on Jan. 3, 1992 in Danville, IL.
Along with his wife, Joyce, he is survived by daughter, Lisa (Leon) Odendaal and a son-in-law, Thom Gensler of Wenona, IL and step-children, Alan Plotner of Belle Chasse, LA and Angela Bell of Crawfordsville, IN. He has five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Gensler; son-in-law, Randy Bell and siblings, Betty Long and Jerry Martin.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Danville. He served his country in the US Army.
Memorials may be made in William's memory to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Food Pantry.
