Von Dell Smith, 86, of Gifford passed away peacefully April 24, 2019, at Country Health Rehab Center in Gifford, Ill.
Von Dell was born in Indianola, Ill., on July 12,1932.
She married Richard L. Smith on July 22, 1950. They were married for 62 years. He preceded her in death in September of 2012.
She is survived by their only daughter, Kathy Smith of Rantoul, Ill. She dearly loved her three grandchildren, Kyle Pickens of Rantoul, Melissa K. Scott of Rantoul and Nathan (Stephanie) Pickens of Potomac, Ill. She was blessed to have four great-grandchildren, Tavion, Aliyah, Tyrell and Alexis Scott of Rantoul.
Von was a Sacristan, Eucharist Minister, and managed the Gift Shop at Holy Family Church for many years. She was an associate member of the St. Francis of the Sacred Heart for 25 years.
A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Danville, with visitation one hour prior to service.
