Chrisman, Illinois - Verna L. Adolph, 79, of Oakwood, passed away at 10:05 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2017, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman.

She was born May 12, 1938, in Oakwood, Ill., the daughter of George and Lola (Miller) Unverferth.

She was united in marriage to Robert L. Adolph on January 24, 1959, until his passing on May 18, 2003.

She is survived by her son, Greg (Brenda) Adolph of Oakwood; her stepson, Bob (Linda) Adolph of Catlin; her sisters, Mary Lou (Charlie) Nichols of Veedersburg, Ind., Thelma Hawkins of Tuscola, and Joyce (Bill) Martin of Danville; her grandchildren, Aaron, Jeff, Rob, Tabi, Tobi, Jaret, Justin and Andrew; and her 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and her stepson, Ken.

Verna loved to take care of her home and family. She attended the Fithian Methodist Church. She loved cooking and baking, especially pies and cookies. She remained very active in her community, where she served as past Cub Scout den mother. She loved to play softball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Above all, Verna loved and cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and sisters.

A Memorial Service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 14, at Sunset's Oakwood Chapel, 105 E, South Main St., Oakwood, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
