Sydney "Sid" Anderson, 88, of Milford, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

He was born April 15, 1929, in Milford, the son of Sven August and Clara Embom Anderson.

Sid married Hazel Smithhurst in Milford on November 11, 1961. She preceded him in death on February 24, 2008.

Survivors include one daughter, Judith "Judy" (Jon) Cooper of Danville; one step-grandson; and one sister, Mary Anderson of Milford. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, six sisters and one son, Richard Lee Anderson.

Sid served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Hoopeston American Legion and Milford United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday November 28, at the Knapp Funeral Home in Milford. Private family graveside services will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford, with military rites by the Hoopeston American Legion.

Memorials may be made to Milford Swimming Pool or Danville Humane Society.
