Fairmount - Steven W. "Oscar" Wade, 64, of Fairmount, passed away at 9:34 pm Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at his home.

He was born on September 23, 1959, in Kankakee, IL the son of Donald and Shirley Parks Wade. Survivors include one son, Logan (Reghan) Wade of Fairmount; one daughter, Mandy Wade of Nashville, IN; two brothers, David (Kelly) Wade of Bloomington, IL and Rick (Chris) Wade of Belleview, FL; one sister, Diana Davis of Tilton, IL; two grandchildren, Audric and Sierra, and one on the way; many nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Justin Eads; and a neighbor and best friend, Josh Campbell. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wade and Mother Shirley Johnson.

Oscar worked as a truck driver for many years before retirement. He was a member of the Fairmount Quarry and the Fairview Sportsman's Club. He was an avid Cubs, Bears, and Illini fan. He enjoyed riding around town on his side by side and didn't know a stranger due to his gift of gab. He enjoyed scrapping and hunting mushrooms and deer antlers in his woods.

Funeral services 11 am Friday, February 16, 2024, at Robison Chapel in Catlin with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. Burial in Greenview Cemetery in Fairmount. Visitation Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Robison Chapel in Catlin. On-line condolences at www.robisonchapel.com.
