Danville, Illinois - Danville, Illinois - Sharon Lou Hardy, 88, Danville, passed away at 6:12 pm on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Hawthorne Inn of Danville, Illinois.
Sharon was born November 21, 1937, in Danville, Illinois, to Louis J. Bednar and Josephine Anna Stulginskis. She married James Bernard Hardy on August 16, 1958, in Westville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2019. Surviving are: two daughters: Christine Massey of D'Iberville, Mississippi and Martina (John) Grites of Danville, Illinois; five grandchildren: Kelly, Joshua, Jamie, Jenna, Will; and six great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Alexander, Augustus, Bentley, Johanna, and Allen.
Sharon graduated Westville High School in 1955 and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1958. She was a nurse over 50 years serving at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Access Surgery Center in Danville, Illinois. She had served as secretary of the St. Elizabeth Nurses Alumni Association. She enjoyed bowling and gardening.
Visitation is from 2-4 pm on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Private family inurnment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. Memorials to Alzheimer's research in her memory. Online condolences at www.robisonchapel.com. The Robison Chapel in Catlin is handling the services.
