SFC (RET) David Allan Hatch, of Dixon, was born Nov. 7, 1966, in Danville, Ill., a son of Harold Dean and Marla Kay (Cordrey) Hatch, and departed this life at 10:31 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mr. Hatch had attained the age of 48 years and 19 days.. At the time of his passing, Mr. Hatch was employed as an engineer bridge crewmember Instructor at Fort Leonard Wood. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4238; the American Legion Post No. 298, both of Dixon; the American Engineer Association; the National Rifle Association and the Arlington Lodge 346 A.F. & A.M., Dixon.. On July 14, 1985, Mr. Hatch began his military career in the United States Army and served his country until July 30, 2009, when he was honorably discharged at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. SFC Hatch was awarded and entitled to wear the Korea Defense Service Medal; the Meritorious Service Medal; six Army Commendation Medals; seven Army Achievement Medals; Joint Meritorious Unit Award; Valorous Unit Award; Army Superior Unit Award; six Army Good Conduct Medals; two National Defense Awards; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Southwest Asia Medal with three Bronze Service Stars; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Humanitarian Service Medal; Noncommissioned Officer' Professional Development Ribbon; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; Kuwait Liberation Medal; Parachutist Badge; Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver-W Bar; U.S. Army Basic Recruiter Badge with one Gold Achievement Star; Gold German Armed Forces Efficiency Badge; Officer CRS; Army Recruiter CRS; Basic Instructor CRS and Systems Approach to Training CRS. A man of excellent character, his "Honorable Discharge" is a testimonial of honest and faithful service to his country.. Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Hatch include; his daughter, Leslie Hatch, Crocker, Mo.; his mother, Marla Hatch Troyer, Danville, Ill.; his father and step-mother, Harold and Carla Hatch, Veedersburg, Ind.; one sister, Rhonda Cox, Lafayette, Ind.; his one brother, Michael (and Holly) Hatch, Champaign; a half-sister, Melissa Brown, Willard, Mo.; a half-brother, James Hatch, Veedersburg, Ind.; and many other relatives and friends.. Masonic services under the auspices of the Arlington Lodge 346 A.F.&A.M., Dixon were held for Mr. Hatch at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, Mo.. Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Hatch at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Chaplain Thomas Reeves, officiating.. Interment with full military honors was in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, Waynesville, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. United States Army personnel served as pallbearers for SFC (RET) Hatch..
