Roy "Little Red" Eugene Kindred, 71, of Oakwood, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Roy was born April 1, 1949 in Paris, Illinois to Robert Kindred and Alice (Plog) Edwards.

Roy is survived by his wife, Donna Kindred whom he married April 12, 1968 in Danville, Illinois. He is also survived by his children, Troy (Nicole) Kindred and Julie (Steven) Kinney, a sister, Barbara Hall, his grandchildren, Taylor Kinney, Riley Kinney and Adison Kinney and many friends who will all miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by a son, Eric Kindred and a brother, Mike Kindred.

Roy retired from General Motors after serving 30 dedicated years there. He spent 9 years as a maintenance director of the YMCA and 6 years as a caretaker for the Pollywogs of Oakwood. In his free-time, Roy enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, spending time with family and friends and pouring his heart into cooking for everyone.

There will be a visitation held for Roy on Wednesday, July 15 at The Rock Church (20 Poland Road, Danville) at 10:00 a.m. with a service starting at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Randy Downing. Following will be a graveside service and interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
