Greencastle, Indiana - Robin Faye (Downing) Keele, of Greencastle, Indiana, age 62, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Steven Charles Keele; two sons: Derek Keele, Joshua (Erica) Keele; and by three grandsons: Bronson Keele, Logan Keele, and Shane Keele. Her grandchildren cherished their "Mammo," and she loved and nurtured them with all her heart and strength. Robin is also survived by her siblings, L. Keith Downing and Debra "Debbie" (Downing) Hughes, a step-brother, Mike Nelson, and her aunt Belva (Downing) Elliot. Robin was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother [Helen (Nelson) Downing], and three step-siblings (Bill, Pam, and Sue).

Robin was born March 16, 1959, in Danville, Illinois to Oscar and Lola (Schlensker) Downing. She graduated from Danville High School. She met her future husband and soul-mate, Steven, son of Kenton and Janis (Hollowell) Keele, in Perrysville, Indiana and they were rarely apart after that. They were married in June, 1977, and were looking forward to celebrating 45 years of marriage in June, 2022.

Robin loved spending time with her family, pets, friends, and church family. She was loved by all who knew her and loved them in return. Robin took after her father and found joy in being outdoors, watching the wild birds that came to visit her many bird feeders, and gardening, especially with the help of her grandsons. She had a life-long passion for reading and enjoyed getting lost in a good novel. Robin loved her church family at Lifespring Christian Church, and had many close friends that will miss her dearly. Her kind spirit, sense of humor, and infectious laugh are treasures that none who knew her will forget.

Robin was an incredibly loyal friend, and was fortunate to meet her dear, life-long friend, Deborah "Deb" (Riesland) Nance in Kindergarten. She loved her sons and daughter-in-law, Erica, fiercely and poured her wisdom and love into her relationship with them and her grandsons every day, despite any pain or suffering she may have endured. Robin was a pancreatic cancer survivor and a strong, determined woman who fought to stay with her loved ones to the very end. Her family is devastated by her loss, but consoled by the knowledge that Robin is at peace now, free from pain and suffering, and enjoying the eternal reward that her Christian faith promised her.
