HOOPESTON - Robert L. "Bob" Hatfield, 76, of Hoopeston passed away at 10:02 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2020, at Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City.

He was born Feb. 21, 1944, in Danville, the son of Robert G. and Mary L. (Lee) Hatfield. He married Paula A. Nolan on April 12, 1964, at the Hoopeston United Methodist Church. She survives in Hoopeston.

He is also survived by two daughters, Julie A. (Kevin) Roskopf of Hoopeston and Amy L. (Todd) Rush of Hoopeston; one son, Richard L. (Paula J.) Hatfield of Dahlgren, Ill.; two sisters, Betty (Wilbur) Knight of Doni, TX and Anne (Chuck) Murray of Grays Lake, IL; four brothers, Ed (Anne) Hatfield of Lisle, IL, Don (Lana) Hatfield of Circleville, OH, Dan (Marian) Hatfield of Robinson, IL, and Steve (Sarah) Hatfield of Edisto Island, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four aunts, Margaret Sims, Jean Eighner, Arlene Miller and Lois Cantwell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert worked as a natural gas utility man for CIPS-Ameren for 48 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Hoopeston United Methodist Church, where he had previously served as a church trustee. He was a past Hoopeston School Board member for 19 ½ years and was a member of the Hoopeston Lions Club. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids and helping his son farm.

Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston, IL. A private family funeral service will be held with a public graveside service at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, at East Lynn Cemetery in East Lynn.

Memorials may be made to the Hoopeston United Methodist Church, 403 E. Main St., Hoopeston, IL.
