Robert Mariage, Sr., 93, of Danville left this Earth, to be with his Lord and Savior in his Heavenly Home, on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 11:40 PM with his family by his side.

Robert was born on May 27, 1931 in Danville, IL the son of Hector and Mamie (Henthorne) Mariage. He married Joyce Ruth Pollitt on October 11, 1952 in Covington, IN and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2017.

Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Witt of Danville, one granddaughter, Amanda (Micah) Schnepel of Danville, IL, three great grandchildren, Ellaina, Bailey and Tucker, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Ruth Mariage, his parents, one son, Robert Mariage, Jr. as well as one brother, Harold Mariage.

Robert became a member of Faith Baptist Church in 1951 and was a member for over 74 years. He taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon of the church for many of those years. Robert also served two terms on the Oakwood School Board and was a retired Teamsters Truck Driver. He enjoyed spending his free time tending to his large garden and cherry trees and watching a variety of birds, especially the purple martins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Noon at Faith Baptist Church, 920 Warrington Ave, Danville, Illinois 61832. Pastor Allan Rudie will officiate. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 10:00 - Noon at the church.
