Priscilla A. "Percy" (Deno) Wallpe Obituary
Priscilla A. "Percy" (Deno) Wallpe, 88, of Danville, formerly of Fowler, died at 6:45 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2016, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville with family by her side. She was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Benton County, Ind. to Meddie and Dulcine (Lanoue) Deno.
She married William J. "Bill" Wallpe on April 3, 1945 in Dunnington, Ind. Percy was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dunnington and a lifetime member of American Legion Auxiliary in Fowler. She, along with her husband, owned and operated Wallpe's Grocery and Restaurant for 31 years in Dunnington, retiring in 1991.
She enjoyed playing cards and watching old western shows on TV, while enjoying an afternoon cocktail.
Survivors include a son, William Wallpe of Danville; five grandchildren, Heidi Vidos, Jennifer Starrett, Fred Davis, Chris Davis and Tracy Acord; six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annabell Lanie and Fern Ince, three sisters-in-law, Rosemary Master, Betty Pitstick and Velda Deno, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, (Bill); a daughter, Mary Wallpe; one brother and one sister; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m. EST Wednesday, May 4, with rosary service at 4 p.m. at Windler Funeral Home in Fowler. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. EST Thursday, May 5, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dunnington, with the Rev. Donald Gross officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
