Phillip Partin Obituary

Phillip David Partin, age 82 of Oakwood, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 10:28 p.m. at Presence USMC in Danville. He was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Frakes, Ky., the son of Grover and Sally (King) Partin. Phil was united in marriage to Wanda "Faye" Cornett until her passing May 8, 1988.

Surviving are his children, Claude Allen (Bethany) Partin of Lacey, Wash., Pam (Dave) Taylor of Oakwood, Michael (Robyn) Partin of rural Danville, Cathy (Jerry) Summers of Lebanon, Ind., and Tim Partin of Oakwood; grandchildren, James (Julie) Taylor, Darren (Anita Foss) Taylor, Christopher (Christina) Daniels, Jonathon (Jennifer) Daniels, Adam (Carolyn Funk) Daniels, Ashli Summers, Zackary Phillip Partin, Eric (Lori) Partin, Kristi (Ut Karsh) Agarawal, Mariah Partin, Amber (Adam Watson) Partin, and Jason Partin; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Nancy) Partin of Tilton; sisters, Jan Richardson of Oakwood, Lucille Smith of Danville, Juanita Swinford of Columbus, Ohio, and Marquetta Miller of Hoopeston; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Faye; brother, Eugene; and sisters, Edna Mae, Viola and Elizabeth.

Phil worked at General Motors as a lab technician. He also served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed playing pool and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Danville.

A celebration of Phil's life will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home's Oakwood Chapel, Oakwood. Pastor Jeremy Martens will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorials in Phil's name may be made to Toys for Tots. Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Please join his family in sharing memories on his tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
