Paul 'Steve' S. Hauger
TILTON, Ill. - Paul "Steve" S. Hauger, 72, of Tilton, passed away at 8:41 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2019, at his home.
Steve was born August 5, 1947, in Sullivan, Ind., to Garland E. and Norma Jane Davidson Hauger.
He married Shirley Marie Coon on May 22 1982 in Danville, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Steve (Krystal) Hauger of Sullivan, Ind.; two daughters, Miranda (Mark) Ames of Hawbuck, Ill., and Holly (Pat) Cahill of Danville; one brother, Keith Hauger of Shelburn, Ind.; one sister, Donna (Bill) Wells of Poland, Ind.; 15 grandchildren, Tara (Jeff) White, Haley (Casey) Noblitt, Mark Ames, Anna Ames, Carl Ames, John Ames, Zeke Ames, Zeb Ames, Jed Ames, Opie Ames, Ruth Ames, Nolan Cahill, Benny Cahill, Addison Cahill and Jameson Cahill; four great-grandchildren and one on the way, Henry White, Forrest White, Effie White and Clarabeth Noblitt. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, granddaughter, Gracie Ames, and grandson, Josiah Ames.
Steve grew up in Shelburn, Ind., and graduated from North Central High School in Farmersburg, Ind., in 1965. He served in the Army in Germany from 1966 to 1968. He attended Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis, and had been a track inspector for CSX Railroad for over 30 years.
He enjoyed gun collecting, coin collecting and motorcycle riding as well as prospecting for gold. He was a member of Shelburn American Legion Post 197 in Shelburn, and the Gold Prospecting Association of America.
Funeral services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, at Robison Chapel, Catlin, Ill., with Mark Ames officiating. Burial with honors at the National Cemetery in Danville. Visitation: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, at Robison Chapel, Catlin. Online condolences at www.robisonchapel.com

I graduated with Steve in 1965. I haven't
heard of him for a long time. Always nice to
me. I had heard thru Romilene Winslow who
was in our class he had been sick.
