Georgetown, Illinois - Paul E. Maudlin 1933 - 2025

Paul E. Maudlin, 92, of Hoffman Estates, passed away at home on December 14, 2025. Born April 29, 1933, in Danville, IL, to Charles and Amy Ruth Maudlin, Paul was raised on a Georgetown farm—an upbringing that instilled in him a lifelong industrious spirit.

A graduate of General Motors Institute, Paul's career as an engineer was defined by his belief in straightforward simplicity, productivity, and a lack of ornamentation. He was a man of integrity who valued function over flair. On June 6, 1954, he married Bonita Joan Wills, with whom he shared a life of devotion until her passing.

A gifted and animated storyteller, Paul is survived by daughters Mary (James) Moltzan and Cherri (Dustan) Doud; sisters Sara, Easter Joan, Vera Pauline, and Marie; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonita; daughter Teresa Stephens; and brother John.

Services: Saturday, Jan. 10, Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center's Houghton-Leasure Chapel 200 E West Street Georgetown, Illinois. Visitation 10-11 AM; Service at 11 AM.
