Patricia "Pat" Hicks Moore, 84, of Rossville, IL, passed away at 1:35 A.M. on Friday, September 27, 2024, on her 84th birthday at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL. She was born September 27, 1940, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Gilbert and Marian (Carney) Hicks. She married Robert J. Moore on August 25, 1962, in Armstrong, IL. He survives in Rossville.

She is also survived by two daughters, Kathy (Greg) Jones of St. Louis, MO and Tammie Ritter of Rossville, IL; a step-daughter, Merry, of FL; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dennis; and her son-in-law, Tom Ritter.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Pat thrived on planning and preparing her home for family visits, especially holidays, complete with elaborate meals. In later years, when her health restricted her participation in meal prep, she was able to stay included by directing the process from what we lovingly dubbed her "command central chair" nearby. She enjoyed games around the table, even if she didn't quite understand all the rules. Pat loved the party as long as it wasn't about her. She was humble, loyal, and always concerned about others before herself.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a celebration of life will be held in November.
