Norman K. Manning, 86, of Veedersburg, passed away in his home, on Thursday, December 29, 2022.

Most knew him as "Bounce", his grandkids called him Poppy.

Bounce was born at home on April 14, 1936 in Sterling, Indiana, the oldest son of Curtis and Ruth Miles Manning. He attended Sterling Grade School and was a 1956 graduate of Veedersburg High School.

After his graduation, he worked at Olin-Flexel until his retirement in 1997.

Bounce was a fan of I.U., the Indianapolis 500, Green Bay Packers, and Nascar. He had several gardens and shared his bounty with his family, friends, and neighbors. He was a good dancer and cut a rug with many a lady back in the day.

He and Clara Ann Ratcliff were married on June 14, 1963 in Sterling.

He is survived by three daughters, Shannon (Joe) Cox, Valerie (Carl) Hoagland, and Renee (Neil) Keller; five grandchildren, Benjamin (Laura) Kooiman-Cox, Hannah Cox (fiancé Rob Holiday), Adam (Shannon) Hoagland, Eli (Casey) Hoagland, Seth (Tabitha) Hoagland; seven great-grandchildren, Theodosia Kooiman-Cox; Dallas, Laney, Skyler, and Brailey Hoagland, Mackenzy and Cody Linville; a brother Ron (Nancy) Manning, and two nephews RD Manning (Cindy Boone), and Jason (Paige) Manning, two great-nephews, Grant and Nolen Manning; and a great-niece Kelsey Manning.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dennis Manning.

Poppy loved and enjoyed his family, extended family, and his many, many friends. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be missed by all.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday January 4, 2023 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg, IN, with Joe Cox officiating.
