Danville - Danville, IL - Nancy Rose (Brown) Green, 93, of Danville, IL, passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 3:24 a.m.

Nancy was born in Millington, Illinois on April 2, 1932. She was the daughter of the late William and Sadie (Gravley) Brown. Nancy graduated from Plano Community High School in 1950.

Nancy married Glenn Lee Green on June 19, 1954 in Plano, IL. Glenn preceded her in death on September 1, 2018. While married Nancy and Glenn were active in the community. Glenn retired as a science teacher at Plano and Mundelein High School and Nancy retired as an administrative assistant at Mundelein High School. They lived in Lindenhurst, IL for several years and following retirement they moved to Danville, IL in 2015.

Following her retirement, Nancy did volunteer work in the community. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Nancy was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and could name all of the players. She hardly missed any of the games on tv.

Nancy leaves behind two sons, Greg (Suzy) Green, Covington and Stephen (Lucy) Green, Chattanooga, TN; three grandchildren, Ashlee (Kyle) Pickett, Hannibal, MO; Nathan (Kerianne) Green, Shakopee, MN and Emily (Jake) Schmidt, Lakeville, MN; three step-grandchildren, Alan Sorenson, Fort Hood, TX; Woody (Stephanie) Sorenson, Memphis, IN and Peyton (Mike) Daniel, Trenton, GA; ten great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends remain.

Nancy was preceded in death by five sisters, Julia Davis, Eleanor Gengler, Mildred Thompson, Eloise Mathre and Doris Akre.

As per Nancy's request, cremation services were accorded her and no local celebration of life planned. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Danville Salvation Army, 855 E. Fairchild St., Danville, IL 61832 or to the OSF Bobette Steely Hegleler Cancer Care Center, 806 N. Logan Avenue, Danville, IL 61832.
