Chillicothe, Ohio - Michael D. Tomlinson, 73, of Chillicothe, passed at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025 in Chillicothe Post Acute following an extended illness.

He was born January 29, 1952, to the late Frank and Elmeretta Drake Tomlinson. On July 19, 1983, he married the former Penny Ison who survives.

In addition to his wife, surviving are sons, Chad (Karen Munger) Tomlinson, of Granite City, IL, Michael L. Tomlinson, and Matthew Tomlinson, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Natalie, Julie, and Michael; a brother, Scott (Tammy) Tomlinson, of Danville, IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, John Tomlinson and Gene Tomlinson; sisters, Kathy Tomlinson Coon, Nancy Tomlinson Vaglica, and Christina Tomlinson Benstead; and former wife, Wendy Cramer Tomlinson.

Michael served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved to fish and hunt morel mushrooms.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
