Mary "Tiny" (January) Lewis, 81, went to be with our heavenly father March 8, 2016 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center.

Mary was born Feb. 26, 1935, in Turrell, Ark., to Robert January and Alma Williams.

Mary "Tiny" was married to Oliver Lewis. He preceded her in death. Mary retired from Danville Care Center after 32 years of dedicated service as a certified nursing assistant.

Mary lived and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was an avid bingo player; she enjoyed watching her daily dose of television soap operas, and spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Mary also enjoyed traveling and listening to her blues.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Sharon McClyde, Lori Groves, Melvina Halthon, and Elizabeth Killingham; one son, Michael Killingham; 20 grandchildren, Renee, Melissa, Shelley, Bridgette, Shawn, Quintella, Jason, Jesse, Walter, Sherron, Bianca, Jasmine, Charles, Cynthia, Cedric, Marcus, Ashley, A'Brian, Abriane, and Adriane; 53 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; a special friend, Barbara Hughes; two special cousins, Ollie Hale, and Lillie Mae Calloway; a special granddaughter, Wilyna Suggs; special nieces and care takers, Sandra "D Baby" Pittman and Twyla Pittman; and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by both parents; two daughters, Alma Mangum and Barbara LeSure; four sisters, Verna Johnson, Ollie Pittman, Dollie Manuel, and Martha Render; and one brother, Robert January Jr.

A Celebration of Life will commence at 12 noon Tuesday, March 15, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 North Bowman Ave., Danville. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until the start of the service. Officiating Pastor Ricky Hoskins. Interment Danville National Cemetery. A public viewing will commence from 1-5 p.m. Monday, March 14, at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 East Williams Street, Danville.
