NEWPORT, Ind. - Marvin E. Crowder, 68, of rural Newport, passed away at 1:20 p.m. EDT Saturday, October 23, 2021 in Rockville, Indiana.
He was born January 30, 1953 in Williamsport, Indiana the son of the late Wendel and Luella M. (Glaze) Crowder, Sr.
Marvin married Angie S. Kilgore on February 16, 1974 in Cayuga, Indiana. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters: Holly Crowder of Champaign, Illinois and Krista (Matt) Taylor of Scottsburg, Indiana; two grandchildren: Emma and Jacob Taylor; one sister: Diana (Bill) Jaffe of Danville, Illinois; three brothers: Paul (Gail) Crowder of Danville, Illinois, Michael (Cathy) Crowder of Urbana, Illinois and Wendel (Donita) Crowder, Jr. of Perrysville, Indiana; brother/sister-in-law: Nick (Paige) Kilgore of Newport, Indiana, and two nephews: Taylor and Kaden Kilgore.
Marvin retired in 2015 from Ball Corporation in Danville, Illinois. He was recently working part time at the Vermillion County Courthouse as a custodian. Marvin attended the Cayuga Christian Church. He was a 1972 graduate of North Vermillion High School. Marvin enjoyed camping, golfing and playing euchre. Most of all Marvin enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Private graveside services were held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana. Officiating: Ashton Stewart. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences: www.deverterfuneralhome.com.
