Westville, Illinois - Martha A. Paine, of Westville, passed away on July 14, 2025 at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living facility in Chrisman. She was born the youngest of 10 children to the late Mary and Bert Palfi on July 10, 1927 in Danville, Illinois.
Martha spent nearly 30 years working at the Peterson Aerosol Factory. She convinced a few of her sisters to work alongside her at the factory, and the group was affectionately referred to as "The Palfi Girls". The close bond among sisters held steadfast throughout their lifetimes. Not one to sit still for long, she also looked forward to working at the Salvation Army and the Pantry in Danville. She was not only a TOPS member for some years, but a member of the Westville American Legion Auxiliary and St. Mary's Catholic Church as well.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her son, George "Georgie" Paine, Jr.; her husband George Paine, Sr.; and her siblings Bert, Andy, Margaret, Jim, Elizabeth, Steve, Joe, Helen, and Paul. She missed her family so dearly after their passings.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews Christine, Earl, Deanna, Curt, Andy, and Alan; several great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
