Lula M. McKinney, 84, of Veedersburg, IN, passed away 9:30 AM Monday February 14, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana Illinois.

Lula was born April 1, 1937 in Covington, IN the daughter of the late Louis and Josephine (Abernathy) Coonse. She married Barney McKinney in 1956 in Danville, IL; he has preceded her in death.

Surviving family include two sons, Jim McKinney, Kingman; Mike McKinney, Veedersburg; a brother, Dusty Coonse, Danville, IL; two sisters, Karen Wire, Tilton, IL; Lucille Meeker, Veedersburg; two grandsons, Delbert (Victoria) McKinney, Cy (fiancé Marissa) McKinney; two great-grandsons, Scott McKinney, and Evan McKinney.

Lula was a member of the VFW, Eagles, and Moose Lodge; all in Crawfordsville. She enjoyed country & western music, and dancing at the Highway 341 Café in Wallace. She loved the Christmas holiday, and enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, and making Christmas candy. She also enjoyed the covered bridge festival in the fall.

Memorial service will be 1:00 PM Saturday February 26, 2022 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Steve Crum officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon Saturday the 26th and continue until the time of service. Burial will be at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.
