Lora "Bud" Franklin Johnson, 73, of Waveland, Ind., went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 12:20 a.m. EDT November 1, 2019, at home with his family by his side.

Bud was born July 9, 1946, in Lodi, Ind., to Lora and Alma Johnson. He graduated from Turkey Run High School.

He married the love of his life, Janice Gossar, on December 7, 1969.

Bud and Janice have two daughters, Tammy (Matt) Pittman of Waveland, Ind., and Tina (Jim) Stewart of Covington, Ind.

He served in the United States Army and worked as a mechanic for several years. He attended Southside Christian Church and Second Church of Christ. He loved tinkering and rebuilding old cars, Wheel Horse lawn mowers and spending time with family.

Bud also has two granddaughters, Cheyanna and Faith Pittman, who were a great help on those days he didn't feel well. He has left behind two brothers, Bobbie (Brenda) Johnson of Lodi, Ind., and Allen (Sheila) Johnson of Cayuga, Ind. He has three sisters, Joy (Bob) Addington of Santa Claus, Ind., Loretta (Curt, deceased) Ellett of Richmond, Ind., Teresa Morris of Terre Haute, Ind., and Kathy (Scott) Learnard of Georgetown, Ill. Bud also left many other family members and friends and his faithful four-legged friend, Scooter, who stayed by his side.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; his parents; two sisters, Judy Johnson and Jean (Bob) Stevens; his two brothers, Edward and Larry (Ellen, survives) Johnson. Bud also was preceded in death by his three four-legged friends, Rascal, Cindy and Scrappy.

Bud's family would like to express their gratitude to the VA Medical Center and Heart to Heart Hospice Care Team for their kindness and compassion they showed during Bud's last week of life on Earth.

Bud was an amazing husband, father, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
