Linda S. McClain
Mrs. Linda S. McClain, affectionately known as "Bubbles," daughter of the late Leonard E. and Helen E. (Bolser) Askins, was born September 17, 1947, at home in Danville, Ill.
Linda attended school in the Danville public school system.
Linda married the late George T. Wilson in Danville in 1972. To this union, one child was born, Heidi Jo Wilson. Linda later married the love of her life, Mr. Arnold R. McClain in 1976.
During her 72 years on this earth, Linda held down various jobs, including taking care of a multitude of children, tearing down buildings in and around the Danville area, and driving the Head Start School buses for many years.
Linda enjoyed life and genuinely loved people. Linda never met a stranger. She enjoyed shooting pool with the Untouchables MC Pool team, dancing, fishing, camping and riding motorcycles with her husband until their health declined.
Linda enjoyed going to church (New Jerusalem, Pastor Bobby Keys) when she was able, spending time with her friends, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Heidi; grandchildren Rae'Anna, Ta'zae and Jae'Lin; as well as her great-grandson Deuce.
Linda leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Arnold R. McClain of Danville; daughter, Heidi J. (James) Pertell of Danville; son, Sheldon G. McClain Sr. of Fisher, Ill.; bonus daughters, Selena M. Elliott of Jonesboro, Ga., and Stacey Webb of Peoria, Ill.; sister, Rebecca R. Thomas of Danville; godsons, Willie D. Thomas of Danville, Steven R. Brandon of Danville; a very special son-in-love, Michael G. Pertell of Orlando, Fla.; special friends, Ruth Abernathy, Gloria Ice, Connie Derrickson, Patti Copple, Renee Rickets, Holy Farrell, Juli Dean and Myrna Rhodes all of Danville; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her Untouchables MC family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother and four grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at noon Friday, October 25, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave., Danville. Officiating will be Pastor Thomas Miller and Pastor Bobby Keys. So very sorry to see that Bubbles had passed away.
We all grew up together.
She was a patient, across the hall from my husband.
She and I had a good talk.It was nice to be able to give her a hug.
God gained another angel.
No more suffering and pain.
