Covington, Indiana - Leland Ray Acord, age 73 of Portland Arch, IN passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 20, 2021.

Leland was born on May 14, 1948 in Danville, IL. He was the son of Ira Leroy and Mary Louise (Edwards) Acord. He was a 1966 graduate of Westville High School. He married Nancy Kay Alexander on June 3, 1967 in Danville, IL. They later divorced.

Leland worked for CE&I Railroad, General Electric and Teepak, now known as Viscofan USA, retiring in 2013. He loved his commercial fishing along the river, hunting, and reading. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are, mother, Mary Louise Acord of Westville, IL; sons, Pastor Tracy Acord (Juanita) and Pastor Daniel Acord (Brenda) of Portland Arch; nephews, Jerry Acord (Debbie) & Mark Acord (Jodi); grandchildren, Chad Hardy (Jessica), Tony Acord (Kim), Travis Kochell (Kara), Brian Acord (Mary), and Herbie Kochell; and 13 great-grandchildren. Leland was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Terry Lee Acord

Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home, 111 E. Monroe St., Williamsport , IN 47993 on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. (IN time) until service time at 1:00 p.m (IN time) with his sons, Pastors Tracy & Daniel Acord, officiating.
