Leila Mae Pocialik
Leila Pocialik, 99, of Centralia, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.
Leila was born March 16, 1920, in Gaylord, Mich., daughter of Volney Sanford and Dora (Hayes) Sanford.
She married Joseph Pocialik on September 11, 1943. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1998.
Leila is survived by her five children, Richard Pocialik and wife, Karen, of Buffalo, Minn., Michael Pocialik of La Mirada, Calif., Paul Pocialik and wife, Joanne, of Rabbit Falls, Va,, Linda Bryan and husband, Ed, of Centralia, and Mary Brown of Mooresville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Jake Brown, Allison Brown, Michael Pocialik and Brendon Pocialik; a sister, Shirley Smith of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Volney and Dora Sanford; husband, Joseph Pocialik; a brother, Bob Smith; and two grandsons, Joseph Bryan and Aaron Bryan.
Leila was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Hoopeston. She was the Activity Director for the Hoopeston Nursing Home for many years.
Leila cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, at St. Anthony's Church in Hoopeston with Father Thomas Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Floral Hill Cemetery Fund and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home, 235 N.
