Danville, IL - Danville - Larry E. Jones, 85, of Danville, passed away at 7:44 PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at his home with his family. He was born on September 14, 1940, in Danville to Dim T. and Edna L. (O'Donell) Jones. He married Ann Marie (Nasser) on December 31, 1980. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Teri "Tara" Clem of Catlin and April Jones of Danville; two stepchildren, Kimberly Mascari and John Mascari of Danville; two grandchildren, Melinda and Beth; and three great grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

After graduating High School, Larry went on to earn his associate's degree from Danville Area Community College. Larry began working as a transport driver for Skelgas, which later became Ferrellgas. It was from here that he retired after over 30 years of service. Larry's passion was baseball and he was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan. If the Cardinals were playing, you knew Larry would be there cheering them on to win.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service for Larry Jones which will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Westville where he will be laid to rest. Memorials in Larry's name may be made to the American Cancer Society. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834, has been entrusted with arrangements.
