Kemp Berbaum Obituary
Kemp L. Berbaum, 75, of Danville passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Carle Foundation Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 7, 1945, to the late Louis C. and Lucile (Sylvester) Berbaum. He was raised on a farm near Fairmount, and spent many years farming with his family. He was always a farmer at heart.
He graduated from Jamaica High School, Danville Junior College and Southern Illinois University. After graduating from college, he enlisted in the Army and served his country in the Vietnam War.
On Jan. 22, 1972, he married Lynda (Spicer) Berbaum, she survives. Also surviving is their son, Brad Berbaum. Missing him, too, will be his dog, Amy.
Kemp spent 47 years working in the insurance industry and in 1979, started the Kemp L. Berbaum Insurance Agency in Danville. He achieved many insurance certifications, served on various agent and company boards and committees over the years.
Per his wishes, Kemp will be cremated. A private service will be held at a later date.
Because of his love for animals, memorials may be made to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter or the Humane Society of Danville in his name.
