Kathryn Lucille (Uplinger) Hoagland, 91, of Veedersburg, passed away 1:00 PM Friday March 25, 2022 at Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Kathryn was born December 17, 1930 in Perrysville, Indiana to the late Byron and Mary (Allen) Uplinger. She was raised on the Ruby Owens farm near Wallace, Indiana. Kathryn graduated from Wallace High School in 1949.

She married Lawrence S. "Bud" Hoagland, January 14, 1950; he preceded her in death August 19, 2013. She and Bud raised three sons; Buddy (Lou Ann), Carl (Valerie), and Jerry (Kristen), all of Veedersburg.

They were also blessed with six grandsons and three granddaughters; Lee (Julia), Brian (Adrienne), Adam (Shannon), Eli (Casey), Seth (Tabitha), and Johnathon Hoagland; Audra (Aaron) Armstrong, Sydney and Kylee Hoagland.

Fifteen great-grandchildren, Ben, Emily, Ethan, Drew, Ryan, Cody, Noah, William, Elliot, Brailey, Dallas, Laney, Mackenzy, Cody Jay, and Skyler.

Kathryn was a member of New Century Church and the Ladies Sunshine Circle there. Earlier in her life she worked for the Veedersburg News office, Country Cousins, and Commercial News office in Covington where she helped with the Wabash Valley News publication.

She was never idle. She liked to cook, bake, sew, quilt, and knit to name a few. She loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens, and was an avid reader. She hosted many family gatherings, which created many loving memories as the family looks back at them.

Kathryn was proud of her family and loved them very much. She will be remembered fondly and missed by her family and many friends.

Funeral will be 1:00 PM Monday March 28, 2022 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Dean Burnette officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Monday March 28th at the funeral home and continue until the time of service. Burial will be at Osborn Prairie Cemetery near Veedersburg.
