Cayuga, IN. - Karen Ann Dowers, 75, of Cayuga, passed away at 2:40pm EST, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Clinton Gardens, Clinton, Indiana. She was born April 25, 1949, in Clinton, Indiana, the daughter of Henry Merrill and Mildred May (Hathaway) Dowers, Sr.

Survivors include a sister Marsha (Bill) Ernst of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and a brother Norman (Janet) Dowers of Lodi, Indiana, along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Henry M. Dowers, Sr, and mother, Mildred M. (Hathaway) Dowers, and by brothers Henry "Bud" Dowers, Jr, Clifford Dowers, and Ronald Dowers and sister Edna Colson.

Karen formerly worked at CCL, Danville, Illinois, retiring November 2002. She was a 1967 graduate of North Vermillion High School. Karen enjoyed crafts, reading, country music, particularly Elvis, and spending time with her family, especially her many nieces and nephews, and her friends.

Karen's family would like to thank the kind and loving staff of Clinton Gardens, especially Activities Director Denise Barnett and Hospice of the Wabash Valley Nurse Abby Waltz. Also, many thanks to Karen's Cayuga Presbyterian Church family, particularly Doug and Mary Brown.

A Celebration of Life for Karen will take place at 2PM EST on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center's DeVerter Chapel 215 N. Division Street Cayuga, Indiana 47928. Burial will follow at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana. Visitation will be from 12PM - 2PM EST on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the funeral home.
