Bloomington, IL - Karen Sue (Nimrick) Bullock, 78, of Bloomington, IL formerly of Danville, IL passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. She was born on July 7, 1947 in Danville to Everett and Vivian (Marko) Nimrick.

Karen is survived by her daughter Lisa (Ron) Dixon of Normal, 2 granddaughters: Skylar and Rylee Dixon, her brother Tom (Julia) Nimrick, 2 nieces, 1 nephew and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Don Nimrick, her nephew Scott Nimrick and her son Brian Bullock who she missed deeply.

Karen was a 1965 graduate of Danville High School. She retired from Steel Grip, Inc. in 2014 after 35 years of service. She always looked forward to the Steel Grip luncheons after she retired.

She loved to travel with friends and family with her favorite destinations being Fort Myers Beach, FL and Ormond Beach, FL.

She enjoyed reading, watching her soap operas, crime dramas and Hallmark movies on TV. She was an avid University of Illinois basketball fan. She liked spending time with her friends by playing Bunco, going to outdoor local concerts, church bazaars, ice cream socials, Red Mask Theater, trying new restaurants out of town and many other activities.

She loved her family fiercely and looked forward to spending time with them. She enjoyed visiting and playing cards with her brother and sister-in-law. She liked going to craft shows and fall festivals with her niece.

Her daughter was her best friend who she talked to every day. They shopped and vacationed together and attended many of her granddaughter's activities together. She was thankful and appreciative of her son-in-law as well.

Her granddaughters were her pride and joy. They meant the world to her. She tried to spend as much time with them as possible by attending their sporting events, dance recitals, playing cards/games, celebrating their birthdays and spending holidays with them.

She was a very kind, loving and caring person. She always put others before herself and was well liked by everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by many!

Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at Second Church of Christ in Danville on April 11th at 11am.
