Danville, Illinois - Joseph Stulgin, 89, of Danville, passed away at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at Hawthorne Inn, Danville.

He was born October 20, 1929, in Silver Lake, Wisc., the son of Joseph and Evelyn (Behnke) Stulgin, both deceased.

He was united in marriage to Florence Ramey on April 16, 1949, and they enjoyed 69-plus years together. She will miss him dearly.

He also will be missed by his sons, Pat Stulgin and Joe (Darlene) Stulgin; and his grandchildren, Levi, Rachele, Cody and Travis. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffery, and his sister, Jean Cravens.

Joseph worked for Illinois Bell, which later became AT&T, until his retirement. He was known to all as a do-it-himself handy man. He enjoyed basketball, softball, bowling and many other sports. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, Florence, and went as far as Hawaii and Alaska. He belonged to the Pioneer of America and the Jaycees.

Joseph had a good sense of humor and will be dearly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Visitation will be 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 24, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Westville, 414 S. State St., Westville. As were his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and at a later time he will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
