John  Marjanovich
John Marjanovich, 95, of Westville, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019, at VA Illiana Health Care System, Danville.
He was born in Westville on September 23, 1923, the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Haluska) Marjanovich, both deceased.
John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII. He held the honor of being the oldest member of American Legion Post 51.
He worked on large tower clocks. He loved to go golfing. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville and loved going to church. He was known to many as a man of faith and a devout Catholic. He was known to enjoy life.
He will be dearly missed.
John is survived by his brother, Frank Marjanovich; his five nieces; one nephew; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe; two sisters, Mary and Ellen; and his nieces, Lori, Judy and Shirley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Wednesday, September 25, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 231 N. State St., Westville, with Father Timothy Sauppe. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the church prior to his service. He will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post 51.
Memorial donations may be given in his name to Palliative Care at VA Illiana Healthcare, Danville. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, 414 S State Street, was honored to assist his family with arrangements.
