John F. Maloy Obituary
Oakwood - John F. Maloy, 93, of Oakwood, passed away at 6:47 pm Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
John was born on July 17, 1929, in Danville, IL the son of Clarence R. and Kathleen Maloy. He married Jean Abbott on September 29, 1954, at the Central Christian Church in Danville, IL. She preceded him in death on June 23, 2019. Survivors include: one son, J. Michael Maloy; one daughter, Shirley Maloy; three grandchildren, Amy Shahan, Jake Maloy, and Josh Maloy.
John was a Korean war veteran serving in the Army. He had been a miscellaneous Machinist at the former General Motors Tilton Foundry, and a member of Local 579. He was 32 degree Mason, and a dedicated CUBS fan. John loved dogs, and especially his faithful companion and grand dog Lola, more commonly referred to as "Sweetie Pie". John loved his children very much.
