Perrysville, Indiana - Jeff Abernathy, 65, of Covington, IN passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. Jeff was born on April 20, 1960 to Kenneth Richard Abernathy and Patricial O. (Drollinger) Abernathy in Danville Il. Jeff is survived by his son Dylan Samuel Abernathy, grandchildren Dayton and Leslie - Sandford, NC. Brothers Stan Abernathy (Tonya) - Covington, IN, Kenny Abernathy (Marriann) - Lafayette, IN and sister Michelle Bowers (Matt) - Covington, IN. Jeff also leaves behind, as he called her, his special niece, Stephanie Bennette, and several nieces, nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Alan Abernathy, parents, Kenneth Richard Abernathy and Patricia O. Abernathy, and brothers Scott Abernathy and Rick Abernathy.

Jeff was a farmer for many years working for Knapper group and was a farmer at heart. Jeff enjoyed NASCAR Races and in recent years enjoyed watching his grandnephews play baseball over the hill in Covington. Jeff was a graduate of Covington High School and a member of Fountain Lodge #60 Masonic Lodge and the Valley of Terre Haute Scottish Rite #341.

Jeff will be missed by his family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington, IN.
