Danville, Illinois - Loretta Jean Sunkel, 89, from Danville, Illinois passed away at 9:30 am on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville, Illinois.

Jean was born April 29, 1933, in Danville, Illinois, the only child of Elza and Marvel (Hubbard) Willison. She married Carl "Bud" Sunkel on July 27, 1973, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1991. Surviving are: her four step-children: Linda (Brad) Pollert, Shelley (Terry) Hoffman, Mark (Judy) Sunkel and Scott (Ute) Sunkel; six grandchildren: Paige Cook, Justin (Dana) Beckner, Jill (Marcus) Hackman, Andrea (David) Munoz, John (Katie) Pollert and Christopher (Lacey) Sunkel; thirteen great-grandchildren: Byron and Brant Hackman, Hannah (Austin) Dunbar, Nate Pollert, Lily Munoz, Peyton, Sawyer and Paislee Pollert, Lanie and Mia Beckner, Evan Cook, Malia (Tanner Kelley) Munoz and Tony Munoz; four great-great-grandchildren: Oliver and Declan Dunbar and Kasen and Kannon Kelley; one son-in-law: Dennis Morgan; cousin, Don Hubbard; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter: Lisa Jean Garrison; and son: Matthew Garrison.

Jean graduated from Danville High School in 1951. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church having been confirmed in 1952. She worked as a secretary for Viking Mechanical Contractors for 19 years and Service Termite & Pest Control for 15 years and retired at the age of 80.

Funeral services 11am Monday, March 13, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville, Illinois with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. Burial in Walnut Corner cemetery, Danville, Illinois.
