Catlin, Illinois - Norma Jean Johnson, 98, of Catlin, Illinois, passed away at 7:58 am on Friday, March 3, 2023, at her sister's home in Kokomo, Indiana.

Jean was born August 18, 1924, in Hoopeston, Illinois to Thomas and Pearl Davis Thurman. She married Donald C. Johnson on August 18, 1944. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1999. Surviving are: two brothers: Thomas (Janice) Thurman Jr of Richmond, Virginia and John (Betty) Thurman of Gainesville, Georgia; one sister: Judith Laird of Kokomo, Indiana; grandchildren: Karha, Travis, Susan, Pam, Chanse, and Jesse; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons: Jay, Mark and Billy Johnson; two sisters: Mary Lou Carter and Dorothy Peck.

Jean lived in Catlin for 45 years and attended the Catlin United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, traveling to South Carolina, vacationing with friends in Florida, and dearly loved spending time with her family. She was the light of so many people's lives; so giving, patient and loving.
