Janice Lynn (Mullen) Wise, 68, of Oakwood, passed away peacefully Sept. 13, 2016 at 11:05 p.m. at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Janice was born Jan. 25, 1948 the daughter of Oscar and Mable Mullen. Janice married Alfred Wayne Wise on Dec. 13, 1992, he preceded her in death.

Also preceding Janice in death was her parents; brothers, James and Jerry Mullen; and one sister, Alice Jean Mcallister.

Janice will be missed by many especially her sister, Sharon (Greg) Potter.

Janice was a graduate of Rossville Alvin High School class of 1966, then went on to graduate from Lakeview College of Nursing with a degree in Nursing. She worked at the VA and several other nursing homes in the area. Janice has always been a fun loving and caring person, a member of Rossville United Methodist Church. Janice was a multitalented individual one being she was a beautiful artist including but not limited to portraits of people and animals which had received many praises and awards for her work.

A Celebration of Janice's life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville at 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, with Pastor Matt Stump officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Janice's name to Rossville United Methodist Church.
