Harry K. Beever


DANVILLE - Harry K. Beever, 89, of Danville passed away at 11:56 p.m. September 6, 2019, at his home in Danville.
Harry was born November 5, 1929, in Tilton, Ill., the son of Charles and Sylvia (Bridgewater) Beever.
He married Alma Maxine Wirth on August 17, 1951, in Danville. She survives.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, "Maxine" of Danville; one son, Lance (Susan) Beever of Mattoon, Ill.; two grandsons, Matthew (Amber) Beever of Mattoon, and David (Candice) Beever of Elizabeth, N.J.; as well as two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Beever.
Harry served his country during the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps as a tank leader. He was a supervisor at Central Foundry and enjoyed spending his free time playing cards, especially euchre, and loved spending time with his grandsons.
A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 13, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Miles Clark will officiate. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard and burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, September 13, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Went to Tilton school with Harry. We were neighbors. The family gave us a puppy. Used to play a card game on Saturday nights called donkey with clothes pins.We were close friends, all of us. My brother and sister. Was a nice family.
