Danville, Illinois - Geraldine McBride Hawkins, 87, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. She was born Nov. 15, 1930, to Louis and Rose McBride in Virginia, Ill. They precede her in death.

Also preceding her in death includes two sons, John R. Hawkins and David C. Hawkins; and one brother, Leonard McBride.

Geraldine leaves behind one daughter, Lori (Larry) Smith of Muncie, Ill.; four grandchildren, Steve Hawkins, Jon (Megan) Hawkins, Justin (Kristen) Smith, and Corey (Kari) Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Dakoda Hawkins, Jayden Hawkins, Obie Smith, Zhane Smith, Chase Smith, Lenora Smith, and Klara Smith; one brother, Miles McBride of Tucson, Ariz.; and one sister, Thelma Spencer of Fithian.

Geraldine loved to play cards, playing scrabble, and listening to music. She especially loved Elvis. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed dearly by her family.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Oakwood. Officiating will be Pastor Raymie Gordon. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville, has been entrusted with arrangements. Per Geraldine's wishes cremation rights have been accorded.
