Eunice Irene (Cronkhite) Cary Obituary
Eunice Irene (Cronkhite) Cary, 87, of Danville, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 after several months of declining health. She was born Feb. 10, 1929, in Rockville, Ind., to Chester and Leafy (Shutt) Cronkhite.
Eunice graduated from Danville High School in 1947 and worked as a Clerk at Eisner Grocery Store. She provided child care for several families in the Danville area and was a homemaker for many years. She was a long time member of Danville First Church of the Nazarene where she enjoyed times of Bible Study and involvement in Dare to Care Ministry. Her family friends and her church all meant a great deal to her. She missed being able to be at church as her health declined.
Eunice is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Ruth Albers (David) Rockvale, Tenn. and Deborah Jean Stine (Bryan) Danville; and a very special nephew, Leland Cronkhite (Bekie) Danville, who faithfully provided support and care over the past many months. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Benjamin Giger (Ashley) Rockvale, Tenn., Michael Albers (Lori) LaVergne, Tenn., Shannon Stine (Kristen) Danville, and Steven Stine (Holly) Danville; her great-grandchildren, Sarah Albers, Shawn Albers, Sydni Albers, Sylar Albers, all of LaVergne, Tenn., Shelby Giger of Rockvale, Tenn., and Araceley Stine, Danville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Eugene Cary; her son, David Lee Cary; her parents, Chester Cronkhite and Leafy (Shutt) Cronkhite; and seven brothers, Elton Cronkhite, John Cronkhite, Ivan Cronkhite, Jesse Cronkhite, Charles Clifford "Cliff" Cronkhite, Harold Eungene "Gene" Cronkhite, and Wilbur Cronkhite.
A special thank you to the caregivers, dear friends, and the Pastoral Staff of her church, who have visited or provided care to Eunice over the past months. It has meant so much to her and to her family to know that people cared. Eunice declared that "Jesus led her all the Way" and now she is resting with Him.
A celebration of Eunice's life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 11, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2212 N. Vermilion St, Danville with Reverend David Anderson officiating. Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. on Monday prior to her service at the Church. She will be laid to rest in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given in Eunice's name to First Church of the Nazarene, 2212 N. Vermilion St, Danville, IL, 61832. Please join her family in sharing memories, photos, & videos through her Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
