DANVILLE - Erin Elizabeth Smith, 30, of Collinsville, Ill. and formerly of Danville, died at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. She was born Jan. 17, 1986, in Danville, the daughter of Dennis L. Smith and Barbara A. Patterson Smith.

Survivors include her parents, several aunts, uncles, cousins and her beloved kitty, Nox.

She was a 2004 graduate of Schlarman High School, in Danville, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Ill. She worked at Danville Community College, Danville Public Library, she completed a one and a half year College Internship at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., and she volunteered at two animal shelters. She was very artistic, loved music, dance and writing short stories. She was an avid reader, environmentally conscious and loved all animals. Erin was a loving and caring person, with many friends; we will all miss her forever.

Services will be 2 p.m. EDT, Monday, May 23, at Bono Cemetery Chapel, in Dana, Ind., with Father Varghese Maliakkal officiating. Burial will follow at Bono Cemetery, Dana. Visitation is from 12 p.m until 2 p.m. Monday at Bono Chapel.
