Elaine R. Fliesser, 82, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 6:34 A.M. Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born August 4, 1942, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Werner and Ilse (Jacob) Fliesser.

She is survived by one sister, Peggy (Peter) Krimbel of Oakwood, IL; three nephews, Jacob (Amber) Krimbel of Aurora, CO, Aaron (Debbie) Krimbel of St. Louis, MO, and Keith (Emily) Krimbel of Bloomfield, NJ; and three great nieces and nephews, Mia, Ezra, and Joanna Krimbel.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Judy.

Elaine obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Illinois. She was a social worker for thirty years in several different schools. After her retirement, she worked at the Hoopeston Public Library for over eight years. She was a member of the Congregation Israel Synagogue in Danville, IL until its closing, the Hoopeston Rotary Club, and Women Making A Difference. Elaine loved reading, watching ice skating, putting puzzles together and collecting and sending Hallmark cards. She enjoyed spending time with her nephews, especially her great nieces and nephew.

A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Friday, September 27, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston, IL. A Graveside service will follow the visitation in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville, IL with Rabbi David Tiechtel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Elaine's name to the Hoopeston Public Library, 110 N. 4th St., Hoopeston, IL 60942.
