Danville, IL - Eileen Joy (Schmidt) Huckstadt, 72, of Danville, passed away on August 15, 2025.
Born September 25, 1952, in Skokie, IL, she married her beloved husband, Scott, in 1975. She is survived by Scott; children Nicole "Nikki" (Andy) McLain and Kyle (Brandy) Huckstadt; grandchildren Marlow, Henley, and Hudson; parents Ernst and Kathe Schmidt; brothers Jim (Gervella) and Paul Schmidt; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother Joy Schmidt and sister Kathy Messina.
Eileen dedicated 37 years to teaching in Danville District 118, inspiring generations of students.
She loved gardening, birdwatching, reading, and especially time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the joy she brought to family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville, IL. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834.
