Perrysville, Indiana - PERRYSVILLE, Ind. - Edith Patricia "Pat" Ann Hughes, 89, of rural Perrysville, passed away at 2 p.m. EST Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Pat was born January 18, 1932 in Mahomet, Illinois, the daughter of the late George L. and Hazel Bartlett Smith.

She married Donald G. "Squeak" Hughes on August 21, 1949 at the brides residence in rural Danville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 29, 2012.

Survivors include her children, Donita(Wendel)Crowder and Dennis(Carol)Hughes both of Perrysville, Indiana; six grandchildren, Wendell Scott(Tiffany)Crowder; Jeff(Tracy)Crowder; April(Bob)Fairchild; Derek(Heather)Hughes; Ashley (Marissa) and Allison (Kylie) Hughes and fourteen great grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Lorin Hughes; four sisters and three brothers.

Pat was a former beautician operating a shop from her rural Perrysville home for over 46 years. When she was growing up, Pat was a member and attended the Pleasant Grove Church in Danville, Illinois. A 1949 graduate of Bismarck High School, Pat later attended the Danville Beauty School graduating in 1961. She enjoyed raising flowers, cooking, being outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren. Pat valued her faith, family, and farming.

Funeral services: 3:30 p.m. EST Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the First Assembly of God, 421 Market Street, Covington, Indiana 47932; Officiating: Pastor Robert Fairchild; Burial: Hopewell Cemetery in Gessie, Indiana; Visitation: 1:30 p.m. EST until time of services at the church.
