Stafford - Edith D. Boyd, 93, of Stafford, Virginia and formerly of Danville, went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. Visitation will be Friday, September 23rd at 10:30 A.M. , with an 11 A.M. service at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Burial will take place at Danville National Cemetery at 12 P.M..
Edith was born September 17, 1928 in Robinson, Illinois to Pearl and Phoebe White. Edith worked for Danville School District 118, for 28 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, as well as a member of the Bradford Chapter of DAR and The Illiana Genealogical Society.
Edith married Jack F. Clay on February 4, 1951 and he preceded her in death in May of 1962. She later married Walter C. Boyd on December 25, 1965 until his passing in May of 2008. Edith leaves behind her two daughters; Barbara (Dennis) Clay-Tucker and Sharon (David) Clay-Gran, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a brother and two sisters.
