Donald Brooks Obituary

Donald G. Brooks, 90, of Danville, passed away at 8:19 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville.

He was born October 13, 1929, in Danville to Emery and Mildred Brooks.

He married Shirley Pierce. She preceded him in death, as well as their children, Curtis, Scott and Linda.

His daughter, Janet (Ron) Brownfield of Decatur, Ill., survives.

He later married Thelma Ford Demmin. She survives along with her children, Pam Craig, Peggy Dabels and Billy Demmin, who loved and admired him. He also is survived by eight grandchildren. He was a wonderful grandfather and was loved dearly by Damon, Casey, Amy, Jacey, Heidi, Carly and Bradley.

Don worked for 48 years as Press Room Foreman at Interstate Printing.

Don and Thelma have gone on many trips together and were best friends. They shopped and ate out together often.

Graveside services will be at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating. Online condolences: www.rortvedtfuneralservices.com
