Danville - Delmar Jynella, 80, formerly of Danville, passed away at 12:35 pm on Friday, June 2nd, 2023 in North Fort Myers, FL.
Delmar was born on May 27, 1943, in Watseka, IL the son of George R. and Alta Carver Jynella. He married Valarie Sanders on January 10, 1965, in Bloomington, IL. Valarie passed away on July 4, 2015. He is survived by his children; Wes (Monique) Jynella, Chris (Chris) Comer, and Bill (Kim) Jynella, as well as eight grandchildren; Alexandria, Chadd, Chase, Bill, Wil, Shane, Victoria and Megan; and five great grandchildren Gavin, Keenan, Caeydan, Emmitt and Iann. He is also survived by his sisters Betty, June and Terri.
Delmar served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1964 on active duty and as a U.S. Navy Reservist from 1985-2000. He was an active member of the Vermillion Heights Christian Church. Delmar enjoyed gardening and sharing the harvest with his church family. He had other interests as well including fishing, woodworking and being a jack of all trades.
Funeral services 11 am Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Vermilion Heights Christian Church in Danville with Pastor Rod Godley officiating. Burial in Danville National Cemetery at 10am Tuesday, June 13, 2023 with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 210. Visitation 10-11 am Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the church.
